Our Bungalow is rented from Windmill Primary School in Raunds, offering young children in the area an opportunity to get used to School surroundings whilst having fun at our Pre-school.
Our Bungalow consists of a large Playroom, a large craftroom, a kitchen/office, a spacious bathroom, a reading room and a large garden. Daily plans are collated and the Playroom and Craft Room offer a variety of activities each day, being changed to coincide with our Theme. Our 'Themes' are instigated by the children's "Show and Tell Time" where they talk about somewhere they have recently visited or experienced, then we convert the Bungalow into that experience so all the children have fun learning about it. Recently we have had a "Jack And The Beanstalk" week all instigated by one child bringing in their bean plant.
The Office/Kitchen is where the administration work is done and where snacks are prepared. The children do not have access to the Kitchen area but can see over the stairgate.
Our Playroom has many activities available on a daily basis. We have two desks, one for drawing, chalking or writing, the other will have a lego or something similar. Cars or trains are available on our floor mat. We have a computer with software to complement our curriculum freely available for the children to use. We have a home corner where the children can practice washing up and ironing, cooking the tea or doing the washing. There is also a role play area containing several sets of dressing up clothes for both girls and boys. The children can also choose any toy that is in the Playroom.

The Craft Room gives the children the opportunity to be creative with paints, chalks, sticking, play-dough and crafts. Two different crafts are set out each day as determined by the daily plans collated by the Staff. There is also an easel and chalkboard freely available during every session.
The Duck Room is used for quiet reading and relaxing on our oversized beanbags. Also the children get to have a story read to them at the end of session time. At Registration the children place their ducks in "The Pond" to show they are present and are marked in the Register.
The garden is used whenever possible so it is helpful if you can arrange for a pair of named wellies to be left with us. Unless it is raining or particularly cold the children are offered freeflow play both indoors and out so they make their own choices as to what activities they want to do. If we cannot use the garden for any reason, Windmill School kindly allow us to use their playgrounds.
