Our Bungalow is rented from Windmill Primary School in Raunds, offering young children in the area an opportunity to get used to a School environment whilst having fun at our Pre-school.

Our Bungalow consists of a large Playroom, a large craftroom, a kitchen/office, a spacious bathroom, a reading room and a large garden. Daily plans are collated and the Playroom and Craft Room offer a variety of activities each day, being changed to coincide with the children's interests.

The Office/Kitchen is where the administration work is done and where snacks are prepared. The children do not have access to the Kitchen area but can see over the stairgate.

Our Playroom has many activities available on a daily basis. We have two desks, one for drawing, chalking or writing, the other will have lego or something similar. Cars or trains are available on our floor mat. We have acomputer with software to compliment our curriculum freely available for the children to use.

Our Home CornerWe have a 'Home Corner' where the children can practice washing up and ironing, cooking the tea or doing the washing. There are also several sets of dressing up clothes for both girls and boys. The children can also choose to play with any toy that is in the Playroom.

The Craft Room gives the children the opportunity to be creative with paints, chalks, sticking, play-dough and other crafts. Two different crafts are set out each day as determined by the daily plans collated by the Staff. There is also an easel and chalkboard freely available during every session.

The Duck Room is used for quiet reading and relaxing on our oversized beanbags. Also the children have a story read to them at the end of session time. At Registration the children place their ducks in "The Pond" to show they are present and are marked in the Register.

Have you seen our Garden?

Recently our Management Committee successfully applied for a Government Capital Grant to improve our back garden so the children would be able to extend their learning through play in a secured area outside. We now have a block paving race track, grassed area and astro-turf so the children can play out regardless of the weather. Our fundraising activities have complimented the garden with a new picnic bench, summer house, tricycles, ride-ons and a new climbing frame.

As the garden is used whenever possible it is helpful if you can arrange for a pair of named wellies to be left with us. The children are offered freeflow play both indoors and out so they make their own choices as to what activities they want to do. If we cannot use the garden for any reason, Windmill School kindly allow us to use their playgrounds.
