All our Staff are dedicated members of a strong team who are passionate about their work and the children in their care. We like to think of ourselves as partners in your child's early education and strive to offer the best service and highest quality education. All our Staff are aware of and strictly abide by a set of Policies and Procedures which includes Confidentiality.

All Staff are all Police checked and hold an Enhanced Disclosure Certificate prior to working with the children. New Staff are interviewed, work a supervised, trial session, references are sought and absent periods of work explained. All of our Staff are parents themselves and a majority of their children started their education at Playmates.

The Staff who work with the children operate on a Keyworker system which means a member of staff is in charge of a small group of children allowing specific targets to be set for each child to ensure they reach their full potential during their time with us. We have five Keyworker and each Group is indicated by a colour.

Gail is our Admin Officer

Gail has been with us since 2003 following a year's term on the Committee serving as Secretary and Newsletter Editor. It was decided that the Pre-school needed a permanent body to look after the day-to-day running and aid the Committee in its duty to continue Playmates' success, so Gail was employed to take on the Role.

Gail is qualified in Microsoft Office and IT and has completed a Business Skills In Care and Early Years Course.

Natasha is our Pre-school Leader and Keyworker for the Green Group. She has been our Leader since 2005 and oversees all the other Staff who work with the children.

Natasha has been with Playmates since 2002 when she joined as a Playgroup Assistant, prior to this she served for a year on the Pre-school's Committee.

She is qualified to Level IV (NVQ In Children's Care, Learning & Development) and is currently studying at University for her Foundation Degree to gain her Early Years Professional Status.

She is also our Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) and Child Protection Officer.

Helen is our Senior Assistant

Helen is our Senior Assistant and also the Keyworker for the Red Group. She has been with us since 2003 and prior to this she served for a few year's on the Pre-school's Committee.

Helen is qualified to Level III (Diploma In Childcare).

Laura is our newest member of staff and only joined us early in December 2011 to take over as Keyworker for the Orange Group. She is proving to be a very valuable member of our team.

Laura is qualified to Level III and holds a National Diploma in Childhood Studies
Marrilynn is our Keyworker for the Yellow Group

Marriylnn started with us in December 2006 and quickly became a very valuable member of staff, impressing us so much that she was soon promoted to the Keyworker of the Yellow Group. She recently qualified to Level III in Child care and will continue to attend training courses in the near future.

Claire is our Keyworker for the Blue Group

Claire started with us in 2006 initially as a relief worker. She has proved herself to be an effective member of staff and immediately started her training in child care by attending and passing her Introduction to Pre-school Practice within her first six months with us. She is Keyworker for the Blue Group.

Claire is now qualified to Level II (Certificate In Pre-school Practice) and will continue her training in the near future.
Helen is our Pre-school Assistant
Helen started with us in December 2009 to support the other staff on busier sessions and cover sick leave. She has shown her commitment by immediately starting her training and passing her Introduction to Pre-school Practice within her first six months with us. Helen holds her Introduction to Pre-school Practice Certificate and will begin to take on more responsibility and continue her training in the near future.

Kellie started with us in March 2011 as our sessions became so busy we felt more support was needed for the children and Staff.

Previously Kellie served on our Management Committee and was a regular Volunteer, helping out during busier sessions, so already had valuable experience to help her in her Role.

Kellie holds her Introduction to Pre-school Practice Certificate.

 

 

Our Staff attend the most up-to-date training courses to keep us in touch with the ever changing strategies regarding childcare.

Our Staff are regularly assessed and set professional targets to ensure each staff member clearly understands their role and responsibility.

All our Staff working with the children train to be First Aiders and those staff who run our snack time hold a Food and Hygiene Certificate.
