Every part of Pre-school life is a learning opportunity
learning, laughing, growing...together

At Playmates your child's welfare is paramount and this begins from the very first time you visit us.

Staff will begin to build relationships with you and your child so they have a friendly face to help them through their first days.

Keyworkers are allocated based on how relationships are forming and the sessions the child will attend to ensure they are familiar with an adult from the beginning on the majority of their time with us.

Our Settling In Policy is very flexible to allow for most eventualities and we have experience of dealing with everything your child might challenge us with as they attend their first few days.

Every child is offered at least 1 'Stay n Play' session where they visit us for approximately half an hour during a morning or afternoon. A parent or guardian will accompany them so the child can enjoy their time with us while knowing a parent/carer is close by if they become worried.

We find this works very well and most children settle in confidently, however, a further 'Stay n Play' session may be offered based on each individual child's needs.

During every session the children have free access to their own individual water bottle. Snack is offered and consists of milk or water to drink and various options for food. This could be fruit or vegetables, cheese and crackers or cereal. We also encourage them to try food from different cultures to support diversity within the Setting..

If your child has an allergy to anything please ensure it is written on their Child Information Form when your child starts with us so we put procedures in place to ensure they do not come into contact with anything harmful to them.
