"Would you like a say in how Playmates continues to grow?"

We are currently managed by
a Committee of parents and associates who have a passion to continue providing the community with an outstanding childcare facility.

If you feel you would like more information about becoming an active member we would love to hear from you.

This is a great way to make new friends and we offer lots of training opportunities and experiences which can be added to your C.V., however, fundraising is a major part of a Committee's role, which is great fun for everyone.

Located on the premises of Windmill Primary School, Playmates started in January 1991 and has gone from strength to strength to provide the very best care and education to children aged between 2 years and 5 years of age.

If you are looking for an established and proven child care provider who will treat each child as an individual and can work in partnership with  families and parents - then we are the child care Setting for you.

We have a close working relationship with the Early Years Team at Windmill Primary School to ensure our children have the knowledge and understanding to confidently enter their Reception Year. We accept children regardless of their parents' final primary school choice and have great relationships with all the local schools.

We strive to give our families lots of opportunities to get involved and regularly share their child's progress with their keyworker. We use an online nursery management system which gives parents and carers direct communication links to their child's keyworker. We find the keyworker system (each member of staff being responsible for a small number of children) enables us to ensure each child is reaching and/or exceeding their recommended targets based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Smiling Child

To ensure our families know what their children have been learning during each session, we use an online Nursery Management System called Famly. This provides real-time activity notifications, information and direct contact with their child's keyworker. Famly gives an opportunity for parents to contribute towards their child's learning by submitting photos and videos, and their own observations, within the home environment.

Our Staff are a very welcoming and dedicated team, all qualified to at least level 3 in childcare and are valued as our strongest asset. To ensure we retain our staff and offer consistency to our children we offer them opportunities to continue their professional development and ensure their ideas and skills are recognised and rewarded accordingly. Check out our Staffs' Page for more information.

Our Facebook page shows a snapshot of the opportunities we offer our children. Our activities link into the EYFS areas of learning and provide an effective way of gaining knowledge on how individual children learn through play.

"Our main aim and objective is to provide high quality care and education, to

ensure all our children are ready to start primary school with confidence."
